Tanygraig – Aberystwyth Wedding Venue

Where Rustic Charm Meets Your Dream Wedding

If you’re looking for a wedding venue that feels warm, personal, and effortlessly beautiful, Tanygraig might just steal your heart. Tucked away just outside Aberystwyth in the village of Llanfarian, this stone barn has been lovingly transformed into a modern wedding space while keeping all its rustic charm. Surrounded by rolling hills, woodlands, and views over Ceredigion Bay, it has loads of brilliant photo opportunities

The space and the vibe

Tanygraig is a well thought out space,  thanks to its four sections of barn, each with stunning stone arches. You can kick off the celebrations in the reception area where guests can enjoy welcome drinks, have a photo booth, or maybe even play some lawn games. Next up is the dining area, with its rich mahogany tables and chairs, perfect for a meal for up to 200 people.

When it’s time to dance the night away, the drinks and dancing area comes alive with a fully stocked bar and a stage for your band or DJ. And if you need a quiet moment, there’s a cosy little snug called Y Cwtch, just off to the side, where you can admire the countryside views.

Make it completely your own

One of the best things about Tanygraig is the freedom it gives you. You get the venue for six full days which means four to set up and make it your own, your big day itself, and one more to take it all down. That means no rushing around or frantic last minute decorating. It also means every detail can truly reflect your personality.

A venue with heart

What makes Tanygraig even more special is the story behind it. Dyfrig, who grew up on the farm, and his partner Emily transformed what was once a livestock barn into the stunning wedding venue it is today. They celebrated their own wedding here in September 2022 so you know the space was created with love, thought, and a real understanding of what makes a wedding unforgettable. Plus they were super lovely people!

Why I love photographing here

From a photographer’s point of view, Tanygraig is a dream. The stone arches, the open spaces, the golden Welsh light in the evenings all work perfectly for capturing those little moments that tell your story. Whether it is your guests laughing together during drinks, the two of you sharing a quiet look in Y Cwtch, or your first dance under the beams of the barn, every corner offers something beautiful.

If you are planning your wedding at Tanygraig and want every moment captured in a natural and heartfelt way, I would love to hear from you. Let’s make your wedding photos just as magical as the day itself.
